Hyde Park homes are known for their charmingly tight attic spaces with closets and bathrooms tucked away in the eves of the roofs—this bathroom exemplifies the challenges that come along with these unique spaces. Finding full height spaces for the shower and vanity mirror were first on the list for this full remodel. Keeping the space bright was also a priority, but the need for privacy found us designing a traditional cafe curtain in a linen check to cover the window. We mixed classic brass and polished nickel to create depth in this small bathroom and designed a custom vanity with traditional details to juxtapose with the modern cabinet hardware. The marble lattice pattern on the floor adds just enough pattern to the space to keep things light, bright, & unique.
